The Residence Hall Association's direction is focused Four Pillars:

Advocacy, Programming, Leadership Development, and Regional Involvement.

RHA serves in a very important student advocacy role. RHA has the opportunity to work on behalf of the residents to communicate with the Administration, Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR),  and the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) about important and relevant issues. Examples include room rates, meal plans, safety and security issues, sustainability, and student rights. Should any Residents have concerns, they should contact their local RHA Hall President living in their Residential Community. They will know the contacts that can best resolve the issue. If you can’t get ahold of them for some reason, feel free to email rhaw@asu.edu.

RHA provides programming for the on campus population through many fun and exciting events for residents. The purpose of programming is to make the residential experience a great one, create memories, and allow residents to meet and make more friends. RHA does so through a large variety of events covering the areas of social, educational, community service, and cultural. The best part is they are completely free and take place all over campus! RHA plans campus wide programs throughout the year such as the annual Kickball Tourney and a talent show called Sparky's Star Search. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with the programs! Talk to the Director of Programming for more information.

RHA creates opportunities for residents to become involved in their community. RHA enables residents to take on leadership roles and have a voice regarding issues in their halls. There are weekly General Council meetings at which any resident can come to talk about and discuss issues that affect the residents.

RHA provides leadership opportunities on a national level as an active member of the Inter-Mountain Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (IACURH) and the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). Each resident at ASU West has the opportunity to attend numerous leadership conferences each year, on the regional, state, and national levels. Regional Involvement is a great opportunity to network with people from across the world while gaining valuable leadership and programming skills that have a significant impact on our campus. For information on how to get involvement regionally, contact the Director of NACURH Communications.
